Trust, Hope & Love

It’s hard to believe that it’s been weeks of on-line services. Weeks since we’ve been able to gather, worship together, and fellowship shoulder to shoulder. Weeks! WOW!

This is definitely a new way of living for us all. And I’m sure questions pop into your head about when will things return to “normal.” I found great comfort in 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 from the Message Bible:

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.”

If you look at other versions, the scripture is talking about gifts. But today, God used this verse to encourage me as I was getting a wee bit weary of this isolation. Things are not clear as we don’t know when schools will open, when we will be able to open as a church, when we can visit friends and family..... God was redirecting my focus from the “when’s” to the “NOW.”

Things may be fog-like and like peering through a mist, but the weather WILL clear and the sun will shine BRIGHT. And I will stop with the when, when, when????

Thank You Lord for directing me to focus on what I can do NOW:

Trust steadily in God!

Hope unswervingly!

Love extravagantly!

Our God is limitless! I may feel weak from time to time, but He always pulls me up and sets my feet back on the truth, His Word. Thank You Jesus!!!!
