Nehemiah 6

“They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”” Nehemiah 6:9 NIV

A little background from Nehemiah 6. Nehemiah’s enemies were desperate. They threatened and lied to stop the work on the wall. But Nehemiah was STEADFAST!

When Nehemiah was pressed on all sides from his enemies he didn’t give in. Nehemiah was focused on doing the work of the Lord. Instead of giving in, Nehemiah prayed for God’s strength. He didn’t pray to get out of the situation, Nehemiah prayed for strength. He was steadfast in his responsibility. The work on the wall would be completed. Not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord. What a great example! Be steadfast and pray for God’s strength to accomplish all that God has called you to do. 🙏

Nehemiah’s enemies tried a slander strategy but Nehemiah was focused and he wouldn’t be distracted by the lies of the enemy. The slander strategy was all about fear and Nehemiah wouldn’t give in to it. They lied and threatened Nehemiah but he refused to CHOOSE fear. He refused to give in. The enemy could not make Nehemiah CHOOSE fear.

We have a choice. How often do we choose fear when faced with situations? Fear isn’t always bad; it protects us at times. But fear can also paralyze us and keeps us prisoner if we’re not careful. Fear can keep us from stepping out by faith to do what God has called us to do. We need to remember that we have a choice. Let’s choose well so we can continue our work in changing the spiritual climate of our community.

2023 will be full of blessings and great opportunities. But we still have an enemy that seeks to steal, kill and destroy. We must remember to be focused, committed, and STEADFAST so we can accomplish all that God wants to do through us.

“So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” Zechariah 4:6 NIV

Remember God’s strength and that He is always with for you and will never leave you! ❤️
