Were you ever asked to do something you were not familiar with? Tasked with a challenging assignment? Or, to lead a team? It’s that uncomfortable feeling of inadequacy and uncertainty, perhaps even fearful of embarrassment. Often the saying ‘step out of the box’ comes to mind.
At my last employment, weekly meetings were held and always opened with a prayer. Not everyone was a prayerful kind of person, including me. People were asked to volunteer and if none, all I could think of was, ‘please not me.’ Well, it was brought to my attention by a co-worker friend, “If you are asked to pray, it is an honor to God.” It was my time to ‘step out of the box’; and…it was the beginning of an intimate relationship with God, an open door to eternity.
The thought of ‘not me’ reminds us that God’s calling always has a purpose. He calls us to be bold. He is pleased when we do something different and step out in faith, knowing He is leading and walking with us. Believe that His strength and His power sustains us. He doesn’t call on the equipped, He equips the called.
Are you willing to take that step when God calls you?.
“Faith does not make things easy, it makes them possible.” Luke 1:37
