Herod had Peter arrested and put in prison where he was bound by two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. The church was earnestly praying to God for him.
The night before Peter was to go on trial, an angel of the Lord appeared and led Peter out of the prison. He then headed for Mary’s house where many believers were gathered and were praying. Peter knocked and a servant came to the door. When she saw it was Peter she didn’t let him in. She was shocked and ran to tell the others. Did they run to the door? No, they told her she was out of her mind. It couldn’t be Peter at the door. Could it?
Well, as verse 16 shows us, they finally did open the door for Peter and they were AMAZED.
This verse always made me giggle. Here they were praying earnestly for Peter and when God answers and he escapes prison they don’t believe. They are surprised, amazed.
This reminds me to be a person of FAITH. Believe God answers prayers and when God does answer, be THANKFUL and not surprised. God is faithful!
When you pray to our Heavenly Father trust and believe. Pray with an attitude of gratefulness and expect an answer. ♥️
